ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਰੰਗਾ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ॥
baran na saakau tumare ra(n)gaa gun nidhaan sukhadaate ||
I cannot describe Your Manifestations, O Treasure of Excellence, O Giver of peace.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੨॥
agam agochar prabh abinaasee poore gur te jaate ||2||
God is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible and Imperishable; He is known through the Perfect Guru. ||2||
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
bhram bhau kaat keee nihakeval jab te haumai maaree ||
My doubt and fear have been taken away, and I have been made pure, since my ego was conquered.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੋ ਚੂਕੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
janam maran ko chooko sahasaa saadhasa(n)gat darasaaree ||3||
My fear of birth and death has been abolished, beholding Your Blessed Vision in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਕਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਲਖ ਬਰੀਆ ॥
charan pakhaar karau gur sevaa baar jaau lakh bareeaa ||
I wash the Guru's Feet and serve Him; I am a sacrifice to Him, 100,000 times.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਇਹੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੨੮॥
jih prasaad ihu bhaujal tariaa jan naanak pri sa(n)g mireeaa ||4||7||128||
By His Grace, servant Nanak has crossed over this terrifying world-ocean; I am united with my Beloved. ||4||7||128||

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਰੀਝਾਵੈ ਤੋਹੀ ॥
tujh bin kavan reejhaavai tohee ||
Who can please You, except You Yourself?
ਤੇਰੋ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੇਖਿ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tero roop sagal dekh mohee ||1|| rahaau ||
Gazing upon Your Beauteous Form, all are entranced. ||1||Pause||
ਸੁਰਗ ਪਇਆਲ ਮਿਰਤ ਭੂਅ ਮੰਡਲ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਏਕੈ ਓਹੀ ॥
surag paiaal mirat bhoo ma(n)dal sarab samaano ekai ohee ||
In the heavenly paradise, in the nether regions of the underworld, on the planet earth and throughout the galaxies, the One Lord is pervading everywhere.
ਸਿਵ ਸਿਵ ਕਰਤ ਸਗਲ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਮਇਆ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੋਹੀ ॥੧॥
siv siv karat sagal kar jorahi sarab maiaa thaakur teree dohee ||1||
Everyone calls upon You with their palms pressed together, saying, "Shiva, Shiva". O Merciful Lord and Master, everyone cries out for Your Help. ||1||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੀਤਲੋਹੀ ॥
patit paavan thaakur naam tumaraa sukhadaaee niramal seetalohee ||
Your Name, O Lord and Master, is the Purifier of sinners, the Giver of peace, immaculate, cooling and soothing.
ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਉ ਗਾਲ ਗਲੋਹੀ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨੯॥
giaan dhiaan naanak vadiaaee sa(n)t tere siu gaal galohee ||2||8||129||
O Nanak, spiritual wisdom, meditation and glorious greatness come from dialogue and discourse with Your Saints. ||2||8||129||

ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਆ ॥

Meet with me, O my Dear Beloved.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਆ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
prabh keeaa tumaaraa theeaa ||1|| rahaau ||
O God, whatever You do - that alone happens. ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਿਕ ਜਨਮ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
anik janam bahu jonee bhramiaa bahur bahur dukh paaiaa ||
Wandering around through countless incarnations, I endured pain and suffering in so many lives, over and over again.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
tumaree kripaa te maanukh deh paaee hai dehu daras har raaiaa ||1||
By Your Grace, I obtained this human body; grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, O Sovereign Lord King. ||1||
ਸੋਈ ਹੋਆ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
soee hoaa jo tis bhaanaa avar na kin hee keetaa ||
That which pleases His Will has come to pass; no one else can do anything.
ਤੁਮਰੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜਾਗਤੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੂਤਾ ॥੨॥
tumarai bhaanai bharam mohi mohiaa jaagat naahee sootaa ||2||
By Your Will, enticed by the illusion of emotional attachment, the people are asleep; they do not wake up. ||2||
ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
binau sunahu tum praanapat piaare kirapaa nidh daiaalaa ||
Please hear my prayer, O Lord of Life, O Beloved, Ocean of mercy and compassion.
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਨਾਥਹ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
raakh lehu pitaa prabh mere anaathah kar pratipaalaa ||3||
Save me, O my Father God. I am an orphan - please, cherish me! ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਪਾਛੈ ॥
jis no tumahi dikhaaio darasan saadhasa(n)gat kai paachhai ||
You reveal the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, for the sake of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧੂਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਇਹੁ ਬਾਛੈ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੩੦॥
kar kirapaa dhoor dehu sa(n)tan kee sukh naanak ihu baachhai ||4||9||130||
Grant Your Grace, and bless us with the dust of the feet of the Saints; Nanak yearns for this peace. ||4||9||130||

ਹਉ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥

I am a sacrifice to those
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kai keval naam adhaaree ||1|| rahaau ||
who take the Support of the Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਗਨੀਐ ਜਨ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥
mahimaa taa kee ketak ganeeai jan paarabraham ra(n)g raate ||
How can I recount the praises of those humble beings who are attuned to the Love of the Supreme Lord God?
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਤਿਨਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਨ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਦਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
sookh sahaj aana(n)d tinaa sa(n)g un samasar avar na daate ||1||
Peace, intuitive poise and bliss are with them. There are no other givers equal to them. ||1||
ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਸੇਈ ਆਏ ਜੋ ਜਨ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
jagat udhaaran seee aae jo jan daras piaasaa ||
They have come to save the world - those humble beings who thirst for His Blessed Vision.
ਉਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੈ ਸੋ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥੨॥
un kee saran parai so tariaa sa(n)tasa(n)g pooran aasaa ||2||
Those who seek their Sanctuary are carried across; in the Society of the Saints, their hopes are fulfilled. ||2||
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਚਰਣਿ ਪਰਉ ਤਾ ਜੀਵਾ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥
taa kai charan parau taa jeevaa jan kai sa(n)g nihaalaa ||
If I fall at their Feet, then I live; associating with those humble beings, I remain happy.
ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
bhagatan kee ren hoi man meraa hohu prabhoo kirapaalaa ||3||
O God, please be merciful to me, that my mind might become the dust of the feet of Your devotees. ||3||
ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਅਵਧ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਘਾਟਿਆ ॥
raaj joban avadh jo deesai sabh kichh jug mahi ghaatiaa ||
Power and authority, youth and age - whatever is seen in this world, all of it shall fade away.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਦ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿਆ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੩੧॥
naam nidhaan sad navatan niramal ihu naanak har dhan khaatiaa ||4||10||131||
The treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is forever new and immaculate. Nanak has earned this wealth of the Lord. ||4||10||131||
