ਐਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਲਟਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੧॥
aiso har ras baran na saakau gur poorai meree ulat dharee ||1||
Such is the sublime essence of the Lord, that I cannot describe it. The Perfect Guru has turned me away from the world. ||1||
ਪੇਖਿਓ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਊਨ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਸਗਲ ਭਰੀ ॥
pekhio mohan sabh kai sa(n)ge oon na kaahoo sagal bharee ||
I behold the Fascinating Lord with everyone. No one is without Him - He is pervading everywhere.
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਪਰੀ ॥੨॥੭॥੯੩॥
pooran poor rahio kirapaa nidh kahu naanak meree pooree paree ||2||7||93||
The Perfect Lord, the treasure of mercy, is permeating everywhere. Says Nanak, I am fully fulfilled. ||2||7||93||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਮਨ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ਹਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ॥
man kiaa kahataa hau kiaa kahataa ||
What does the mind say? What can I say?
ਜਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaan prabeen thaakur prabh mere tis aagai kiaa kahataa ||1|| rahaau ||
You are wise and all-knowing, O God, my Lord and Master; what can I say to You? ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਬੋਲੇ ਕਉ ਤੁਹੀ ਪਛਾਨਹਿ ਜੋ ਜੀਅਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤਾ ॥
anabole kau tuhee pachhaanahi jo jeean mahi hotaa ||
You know even what is not said, whatever is in the soul.
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾਇ ਕਹਾ ਲਉ ਡਹਕਹਿ ਜਉ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਨਤਾ ॥੧॥
re man kaai kahaa lau dahakahi jau pekhat hee sa(n)g sunataa ||1||
O mind, why do you deceive others? How long will you do this? The Lord is with you; He hears and sees everything. ||1||
ਐਸੋ ਜਾਨਿ ਭਏ ਮਨਿ ਆਨਦ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
aiso jaan bhae man aanad aan na beeo karataa ||
Knowing this, my mind has become blissful; there is no other Creator.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਲਹਤਾ ॥੨॥੮॥੯੪॥
kahu naanak gur bhae daiaaraa har ra(n)g na kabahoo lahataa ||2||8||94||
Says Nanak, the Guru has become kind to me; my love for the Lord shall never wear off. ||2||8||94||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਝਰਿ ਪਰੀਐ ॥
ni(n)dak aise hee jhar pareeai ||
Thus, the slanderer crumbles away.
ਇਹ ਨੀਸਾਨੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਉ ਕਾਲਰ ਭੀਤਿ ਗਿਰੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ih neesaanee sunahu tum bhaaee jiu kaalar bheet gireeai ||1|| rahaau ||
This is the distinctive sign - listen, O Siblings of Destiny: he collapses like a wall of sand. ||1||Pause||
ਜਉ ਦੇਖੈ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਤਉ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਉਮਾਹੈ ਭਲੋ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੁਖ ਭਰੀਐ ॥
jau dekhai chhidr tau ni(n)dak umaahai bhalo dekh dukh bhareeai ||
When the slanderer sees a fault in someone else, he is pleased. Seeing goodness, he is depressed.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਨਹੀ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਬੁਰਾ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਮਰੀਐ ॥੧॥
aath pahar chitavai nahee pahuchai buraa chitavat chitavat mareeai ||1||
Twenty-four hours a day, he plots, but nothing works. The evil man dies, constantly thinking up evil plans. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਨੇਰੈ ਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਦੁ ਉਠਰੀਐ ॥
ni(n)dak prabhoo bhulaaiaa kaal nerai aaiaa har jan siu baad uthareeai ||
The slanderer forgets God, death approaches him, and he starts to argue with the humble servant of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਨਸ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਰੀਐ ॥੨॥੯॥੯੫॥
naanak kaa raakhaa aap prabh suaamee kiaa maanas bapure kareeai ||2||9||95||
God Himself, the Lord and Master, is Nanak's protector. What can any wretched person do to him? ||2||9||95||

ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥
aise kaahe bhool pare ||
Why do you wander in delusion like this?
ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karahi karaavahi mookar paavahi pekhat sunat sadaa sa(n)g hare ||1|| rahaau ||
You act, and incite others to act, and then deny it. The Lord is always with you; He sees and hears everything. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਚ ਬਿਹਾਝਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਛਾਡਨ ਬੈਰੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੇਤੁ ਸਾਜਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥
kaach bihaajhan ka(n)chan chhaadan bairee sa(n)g het saajan tiaag khare ||
You purchase glass, and discard gold; you are in love with your enemy, while you renounce your true friend.
ਹੋਵਨੁ ਕਉਰਾ ਅਨਹੋਵਨੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਜਰੇ ॥੧॥
hovan kauraa anahovan meethaa bikhiaa mahi lapataai jare ||1||
That which exists, seems bitter; that which does not exist, seems sweet to you. Engrossed in corruption, you are burning away. ||1||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪਰਾਨੀ ਭਰਮ ਗੁਬਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਿ ਪਰੇ ॥
a(n)dh koop mahi pario paraanee bharam gubaar moh ba(n)dh pare ||
The mortal has fallen into the deep, dark pit, and is entangled in the darkness of doubt, and the bondage of emotional attachment.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਤ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਕਾਢੈ ਬਾਹ ਫਰੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੯੬॥
kahu naanak prabh hot daiaaraa gur bhetai kaadhai baah phare ||2||10||96||
Says Nanak, when God becomes merciful, one meets with the Guru, who takes him by the arm, and lifts him out. ||2||10||96||

ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੀਨੑਾ ॥
man tan rasanaa har cheenhaa ||
With my mind, body and tongue, I remember the Lord.
ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸੇ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੑਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhae ana(n)daa mite a(n)dese sarab sookh mo kau gur deenhaa ||1|| rahaau ||
I am in ecstasy, and my anxieties are dispelled; the Guru has blessed me with total peace. ||1||Pause||
ਇਆਨਪ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਭਈ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਨਾ ਬੀਨਾ ॥
iaanap te sabh bhaee siaanap prabh meraa daanaa beenaa ||
My ignorance has been totally transformed into wisdom. My God is wise and all-knowing.
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਖੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
haath dei raakhai apane kau kaahoo na karate kachh kheenaa ||1||
Giving me His Hand, He saved me, and now no one can harm me at all. ||1||
ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
bal jaavau darasan saadhoo kai jih prasaad har naam leenaa ||
I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Holy; by their Grace, I contemplate the Lord's Name.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਾਰੋਸੈ ਕਹੂ ਨ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਛੀਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੯੭॥
kahu naanak thaakur bhaarosai kahoo na maanio man chheenaa ||2||11||97||
Says Nanak, I place my faith in my Lord and Master; within my mind, I do not believe in any other, even for an instant. ||2||11||97||

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਈ ॥

The Perfect Guru has has saved me.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
a(n)mrit naam ride mahi deeno janam janam kee mail gaee ||1|| rahaau ||
He has enshrined the Ambrosial Name of the Lord within my heart, and the filth of countless incarnations has been washed away. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿਵਰੇ ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
nivare doot dusat bairaaee gur poore kaa japiaa jaap ||
The demons and wicked enemies are driven out, by meditating, and chanting the Chant of the Perfect Guru.
